iCPS Lab's "iEarLM Smart Ear Diagnosis Platform" Wins Third Place at the 10th National Compassion Technology Innovation Competition in 2026

The iCPS Lab team "圓圓的腦袋,大大耳朵" entered the "iEarLM Smart Ear Diagnosis Platform" in the 10th National Compassion Technology Innovation Competition in 2026. At the final and award ceremony held on October 3, 2026, at Huashan 1914 Creative Park, West Halls 5-1 and 5-2, the team won Third Place in the University and College Division and received a cash prize of NT$30,000.

Organized by Tzu Chi University, the competition focuses on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and compassionate technology, encouraging teams to apply innovation to social, health, and care-related needs.

The participating students were 丁維暘、謝修瑜、楊宗翰、胡景翔、藍信安、陳閔昱. The team worked together to prepare and present the project, earning competition recognition for the iEarLM Smart Ear Diagnosis Platform.

The iEarLM Smart Ear Diagnosis Platform combines AI image recognition, augmented reality, and automated generation of clinical diagnostic reports. It supports image analysis and information organization for middle- and outer-ear lesions, as well as use cases involving clinical documentation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and medical education.

During the final, the team presented the system and answered questions from the judges, explaining the problem addressed, system design, and intended applications. The award recognizes the lab's work in integrating AI with smart healthcare and the students' ability to turn research into a complete system.

iCPS Lab will continue advancing research in AI, image recognition, augmented reality, and smart healthcare while encouraging students to develop cross-disciplinary integration and system-building experience through project work and competitions grounded in real-world needs.
